    Actionaid

    ActionAid has been working on HIV/AIDS since 1987, giving practical support to people living with the disease in 23 countries, as well as campaigning and lobbying rich governments and international institutions to make access to drugs, care and treatment fair and unbiased.

    Avert

    AVERT has a number of overseas projects, helping with the problem of HIV/AIDS in countries where there is a particularly high rate of infection, such as South Africa, or where there is a rapidly increasing rate of infection such as in India.

    TAC: Treatment Action Campaign

    The Treatment Action Campaign was founded on 10 December 1998 in Cape Town, South Africa. We campaign for treatment for people with HIV and to reduce new HIV infections. Our efforts have resulted in many life-saving interventions, including the implementation of country-wide mother-to-child transmission prevention and antiretroviral treatment programmes.
    The TAC also runs a treatment literacy campaign: this is a training programme on the science of HIV treatment and prevention.

    UNIFEM : Gender and AIDS

    UNIFEM, in collaboration with UNAIDS, has developed this comprehensive gender and HIV/AIDS web portal to provide up-to-date information on the gender dimensions of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The site aims to promote understanding, knowledge sharing, and action on HIV/AIDS as a gender and human rights issue.

    Youthnet / Family Health International

    YouthNet is a global program to improve reproductive health and prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS among people 10 to 24 years old. YouthNet works to improve and strengthen youth programs, services, and policy; conducts research on critical information gaps; and disseminates and promotes information, tools, and evidence-based approaches that address reproductive health and HIV/AIDS prevention for youth at national, regional, and international levels.
