The Cuban
School audiovisual program (MITV) currently offers different educational
programs at all levels in Cuba. The schools having access to a TV set
(most of the schools in the country) use this means of communication
twice a week. The new objective of the Enrique José Varona Pedagogical
Institute is the production of didactic videos which support the curricular
and extracurricular activities, connected to a general and integral
kind of culture, and specifically oriented to environmental education
(Subjects: Energetic education, renewable energy and environmental education).
These videos are broadcast through the program "My TV" of the national
television.
|
|
 |
|
The videos
are produced by the educational television department of the Enrique
Varona Pedagogical Institute at Havana (Pedagogical University) of the
Ministry of Education of Cuba.
|
|
 |
|
The
origin of the educational television department dates back to the 70s,
when the close circuit television started working at the PEJV Institute.
In 1985, the acquisition of new equipment allowed the widening of the
work profile and gave way to the production of educational videos, not
only for University use, but also for the different levels of the National
System of Education. The production in recent years amounts to around
300 videos.
Through videos and television (audiovisual program), there is an important
contribution to personality formation in the new Cuban generations.
Now, the intense work of rural schools electrification program with
photovoltaic plants allows children to enjoy this advantage all through
the country.
