Resource Bank

The IBE acts as both an Observatory of educational trends and a Resource Bank, providing support to the international Education for All (EFA) strategy, including the UNESCO Global Monitoring Report on EFA. This involves the compilation, production, and dissemination of quality and up-to-date information and analyses on education systems, existing curricula, curriculum development processes and learning materials from around the world, together with examples of good practices and innovations.

Using information resources compiled under the Resource Bank, and in partnership with researchers and specialists worldwide, the Observatory carries out research projects and contributes to EFA through a range of thematic studies and analyses.

 Information is also made available through online databases such as World Data on Education and the Country Dossiers. These include profiles of national education systems worldwide as well as links to a variety of information resources on education in each country, with a special focus on curriculum.

The IBE also gives access to a range of educational data in each country through the unique collection of National Reports on the Development of Education, presented by UNESCO Member States at each session of the International Conference of Education.
