IBE and the International Conference:

"Towards a New Education System For Rebuilding the Iraqi Society: From Vision to Practice"

As a follow up of the study visit the IBE organised in September 2005 for Iraqi education specialists, Mrs. Dakmara Georgescu, IBE programme coordinator, participated in a preparatory meeting of the Iraq conference (Amman, October 2005). The meeting aimed at setting the conference Agenda and exploring possibilities for efficiently capitalizing on the conference outcomes.

During the international conference Mr. Pierre Luisoni, IBE director a.i. chaired a panel of Iraqi and international education specialists who shared their views on challenges and opportunities the curriculum reform in Iraq should take into consideration.

Mrs. Dakmara Georgescu, IBE programme coordinator, summarised the discussions of day one. She also presented a synthesis of discussions in the curriculum group as part of the overall conference Report.
