Design & Evaluation of Competencies in Secondary Education

Guatemala City, Guatemala - 22 to 24 October 2007
A national workshop on “Design and evaluation of competencies in Secondary Education” will take place in Guatemala.
The main objective is to provide orientation for secondary school teachers designing competency-based learning situations as a tool for developing the new curriculum for grades 7 to 9. Teachers for various disciplines: Math, Communication and Language, Natural Sciences, Social Science and Citizenship Education, and Productivity and Development; will attend the workshop.
The Technical Vice Minister of Education, Ms. Floridalma Meza Palma, is expected to inaugurate the event.
The workhop is situated in the context of the Central American Community of Practice in Curriculum Development, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Education of Guatemala, UNESCO Office in Guatemala and GTZ.
