Eastern and South-eastern Europe
Focal Point: Center Education 2000+
Representative: Mr. Alexandru Crisan (Executive President)
The Focal Point has led two studies:
- “Getting from Policy to Sustainable Development of Basic Education Curriculum” covering the cases of Albania, Moldova, Romania and Ukraine.
- “Current and Future Challenges in Curriculum Development: Policies, Practices and Networking for Change”. This study has been co-published by the IBE and the Center Education 2000+ as an outcome of the colloquium held in Sinaia (Romania), in November 2005.
Both studies contribute to the in depth consideration of the process of curriculum change in basic education in the sub-region. They also outline a series of lessons learned regarding the design and implementation of education and curricular policies.
This Focal Point contributed to organising the Eastern and South-eastern European Workshop on Inclusive Education, held in Sinaia (Romania) on 14-16 June 2007. Mr. Crisan continues to be involved in the follow-up activities for the 48th session of the International Conference on Education (ICE 2008, Geneva).
For more information about the Community of Practice in this region, please contact Mr. Alexandru Crisan.
