The Focal Point contributed in the following ways:

 

  • Dissemination and publication of the outcomes of the Regional Workshop on Inclusive Education held in Buenos Aires;
  • Continuing the E-forums on eight curricular issues through exchanges between educators from the Southern Cone and Andean region, as well as the publication of reference documents and discussion outcomes. The issues include: curriculum isomorphism, the curriculum re-contextualisation, curricular homogeneity and heterogeneity, national official curriculum and curriculum equity, symbolic and political power in the process of curricular selection, intended and implemented curriculum as well as curriculum change and continuity.

 

This Focal Point participated in the organisation of the Latin American, Southern and Andean Regional Workshop on Inclusive Education, held in Buenos Aires on 12-14 September 2007. The Focal Point continues to be involved in the follow-up activities of the 48th session of the International Conference on Education (ICE 2008, Geneva).
