Prospects #147 and #148 Published

Prospects is UNESCO’s quarterly review of comparative education. Prospects 147 examines “Education For All (EFA) by 2015: Progresses and Challenges”. This special issue, edited by Aaron Benavot presents a comprehensive overview of the progress towards EFA since Dakar, while also discussing clear priorities for both international stakeholders and national governments for the coming years. Prospects 148 includes a profile of Phillip Foster, whose work in education and development has help shape the field of comparative education. This edition also tackles issues like: the role of education in relation to HIV and AIDS infection in Sub Saharan Africa, a comparative analysis of teacher policy and the innovative use of technology in education and the question of whether higher education is a public good or a commodity for trade?
