The Comenius Medal

The Ministry of National Education, Youth and Sport of the Czech Republic and UNESCO established the Jan Amos Comenius Medal in 1992 on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the birth of the great education.
The Medal, one of UNESCO’s most prestigious awards, is intended to acknowledge the work of those educators who have made a significant contribution to the development or renewal of education. More...
The Comenius Medal will be awarded by the Director-General of UNESCO on Wednesday 26 November to the following laureats:

- Prof. Phillip William HUGHES (Australia)
- Prof. Dr. Basu Dev KAFLE (Nepal)
- Prof. Laila Ahmed El-Sayed KARAM EL-DIN (Egypt)
- Ms. Onerva MÄKI (Finland)
- Mr. Mamadou NDOYE (Senegal)
- Ms. Sylvia Irene SCHMELKES DEL VALLE (Mexico)
- Prof. Tirussew TEFERRA (Ethiopia)
