The 2010 Education for All Global Monitoring Report is launched

19.01.2010

Details

Ban Ki-moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations, and Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO,  launch the 2010 EFA Global Monitoring Report, Reaching the marginalized, at UN headquarters in New York on 19 January, 2010, 11 am–12 pm (Conference Room 3). This will be followed on 20 January by a policy event in Washington, DC. Millions of children are still missing out on their right to education.  The Education for All Global Monitoring Report 2010 examines why these children are being left behind, presents a new estimate of the global cost of reaching the Education for All goals by 2015, and challenges the international community to act urgently to avoid creating a lost generation of children in the world's poorest countries.

The Report will be available to download from the GMR website from 1700 GMT 19 January: Feel free to create a link on your own website to the GMR site, and to use an image of the cover of the 2010 Report. Check the GMR website for the live webcast, updates and other launch information.
