Assessments and Measuring Learning for the Post-2015 Education Agenda

Measuring learning is critical to implementing the proposed post-2015 education agenda. When well-designed, national assessment systems can play an important role in monitoring progress towards goals, guiding implementation, and contributing to improvements in teaching and learning. UNESCO (ED/TLC/LTR) and UIS are co-organizing an international consultation meeting on national assessments, in partnership with IBE and UNESCO regional offices in Bangkok and Santiago.

This meeting will bring together representatives of UNESCO Member States, as well as independent experts, representatives of partner organizations and UNESCO staff to address the role and importance of national assessment systems, and will explore how national measurement of learning can both inform global monitoring and facilitate progress towards the proposed post-2015 education goals.
