
Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, 16-19 December 2008 Initiated by the Kigali Call for Action, the UNESCO Basic Education Programme in Africa (BEAP) was established to support the extension of basic education in partner countries from early childhood education to the end of junior secondary education. After The Gambia and Ethiopia, countries of the initial phase of the BEAP, Côte d'Ivoire is the next country, at its request, to benefit from this collaboration.
