San Jose, Costa Rica - 25 to 28 June 2007 Within the cooperation agreement signed in November 2006 between the Education and Cultural Council of Central America (CECC) and the International Bureau of Education (IBE/UNESCO), the 4th Meeting of the Central American Community of Practice in Curriculum Development – Regional Workshop entitled “competency-based curriculum design” took place in San Jose, Costa Rica, 25-28 June 2007. Its main objective was to contribute to the construction of capacities of educators and curriculum specialists from the Ministries of Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Panama, as well as from universities and sectors of the civil society, on competency-based curriculum design (pedagogy of integration). The Minister of Education of Costa Rica, Mr. Leonardo Garnier, inaugurated the event.
