
Montevideo, Uruguay, 16-27 August 2010 The new post-graduate Diploma in Curriculum Design and Development programme is set to commence on 16 August 2010, at the Catholic University of Uruguay (UCU) in Montevideo, continuing through the academic year 2010 – 2011. The Diploma aims to promote training and capacity development on curricular issues to contribute to the achievement of quality education for all.
During a two-week intensive in-house session followed by 30 weeks of online activities, participants will develop their competencies for analysis, review and evaluation of curricular design and development, with an emphasis on the school level.
The programme consists of ten modules jointly developed by UNESCO-IBE, UCU and UNESCO’s Regional Bureau of Education for Latin America and the Caribbean (OREALC). It is designed for policy makers, experts from the national ministry teams, international civil servants, teachers, professors, managers, supervisors, educators and researchers interested in analyzing and improving curriculum.
The Diploma is based on the IBE Curriculum Resource Pack, comprised of a conceptual framework, diverse training activities, resources and cases studies from all over the world, a glossary and a list of annotated concepts. Through the Resource Pack, participants will have access to updated comparative perspectives, strategies and practices on the processes of curriculum change and development.
