Details

Two pilot project schools were selected in Trinidad and Tobago to participate in the GigaPan project:  Naparima Girls’ High School (Trinidad) and Bishop’s High School (Tobago).  The schools were visited from the 15th to the 19th of September to integrate them within the project and to train students and teachers in the various aspects of the project.

The visit to the schools focused on the following objectives:

a) Assessment of the curricular context to establish the feasibility and continuity of the project in the two schools. This meant identifying teaching and learning needs in order to ensure the appropriate support.

b) Teacher and Student Training: By complementing teachers’ and students’ technological GigaPan training, the project aimed to develop teachers’ pedagogical content knowledge and students’ knowledge and skills in relation to GigaPan Project objectives. These objectives were to be addressed as well in connection to Trinidad and Tobago’s national curricular learning outcomes: aesthetic expression; citizenship; communication; personal development; problem solving and technological competence.
