Working with UNESCO Field Offices to better position IBE with programme countries; Promoting IBE as an integral part of UNESCO; Highlighting IBE's unique added value in education; Learning lessons from the best practices in the past – these were some of the key issues addressed in a virtual workshop on resource mobilization co-organized by IBE and the UNESCO Bureau of Strategic Planning (BSP) on 29 April 2021.
“We have set an ambitious target of USD 15 million for the next programme and budget”, said Yao Ydo, the IBE Director, “and I do believe we can achieve it”.
The workshop was attended by over 25 colleagues from IBE and UNESCO Headquarters.
Closing the meeting, Mohamed Djelid, Deputy Director of BSP, underscored BSP’s willingness to support the IBE in the work ahead: “Before reaching out to donors, you need to be well prepared”, he said.
This first exchange will be followed by further virtual working sessions to focus on priority donor groups and work collectively on IBE’s new resource mobilization plan.
