Details

IBE-UNESCO is launching the series Training Tools for Curriculum Development to support Member States in providing technical assistance and strengthening leadership for education and curriculum reforms. As a global centre and field-oriented institute specialized in curriculum, learning, assessment and related issues, IBE-UNESCO supports the action of UNESCO within the Education 2030 Agenda and SDG 4 “To ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.” The training tools are developed and used to train and further develop existing capacities of national policy makers, curriculum specialists and developers, assessment experts, teacher educators, teachers, school leaders, supervisors and district level administrators. All training tools are conceived with the idea of responding to different needs and contexts. This adaptability will help the users to better reflect on and further improve their countries’ education systems and practices.

This series consists of a variety of training materials including Resource Packs and Thematic Modules, which share an understanding of the theory and practices of prevailing themes of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Education 2030 Agenda. The focus areas of Training Tools for Curriculum Development encompass, among others: i) curriculum design and development; ii) pedagogical approaches and practices (assessment, personalized learning, etc.); iii) inclusive education and inclusive curricula; iv) Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education; and v) Global Citizenship Education (GCED).
