
Luke Ravenstahl, the Mayor of Pittsburgh, USA issued a proclamation honoring GigaPan UNESCO IBE Day on October 23rd 2008.
The Mayor praised UNESCO IBE and Carnegie Mellon University “for developing and innovative approach to connecting the world’s children”.
He went on to say “…children across the world need to develop a deeper knowledge and understanding about one another and to become acquainted with the technologies that are driving industrial development and global communication”.
The GigaPan project has been fully implemented in two schools and introduced to several others in Pittsburgh. The Mayor’s proclamation illustrates the importance of the GigaPan project to the local community.
