Symposium on the development of Inclusive Education

Pamplona, Spain, June 29 - July 1 2009 

 

"The Long Road towards an Inclusive Education" is the motto of the Symposium to be held by the Spanish Society for the History of Education from the Public University of Navarra in Pamplona on June the 29th - 1st July 2009. 

 

Timed with the European Year of Equal Opportunities for all and Spain’s recent ratification of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the symposium will consider how the education system has responded to people with special educational needs.

 

Over the three days, current research and presentations will be discussed to generate new knowledge to effectively implement inclusive education, a major challenge in bringing about a more inclusive future. The IBE will make a presentation on regional perspectives on inclusive education and the 48th session of the International Conference on Education (ICE).
