Symposium of the UNESCO Chair in Curriculum Development



Montreal, Canada, 15-16 April 2010 In an ever-changing universe, the world's education systems have been redefining themselves and reforming their curricula for more than a decade. Beyond these reforms, educators themselves have been setting their schools in action. In response to tensions and distance between the curriculum reforms in theory and practices in the schools, this Symposium addresses different topics of Curriculum Development. Through the six plenary addresses and three concurrent sessions, including keynote speeches, regional and international expert presentations, the Symposium will enable education practitioners, administrators and researchers to share their thoughts and address tensions, challenges and perspectives. The IBE will participate by bringing expertise in Inclusive Education and curriculum development. The Symposium is co-organized by the UNESCO Chair in Curriculum Development (UCCD) and Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM).  For more information:
