UNESCO International Bureau of Education (UNESCO-IBE) participated in the 66th edition of the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES)

Details

UNESCO-IBE participated in a range of panels and book launches at the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) Annual Conference which took place 18-22 April 2022. This year’s event was hosted both in-person in Minneapolis, Minnesota (US) and virtually.

This year’s theme “Illuminating the Power of Idea/lism” responds to two major realities of our time. The first is our global experience with the COVID-19 pandemic, and the second is the rise of nativism and fundamentalism. This major international conference seeks to address these challenges by bringing forward new ideas – and idealism – to the work of global educationalists.

The participation of the UNESCO-IBE in the CEIS conferences has always been vital throughout the years.  Priding its significant role as a cradle of global education through its leadership and promotion of international cooperation in education.
