Developing modules, training tools, and resource materials in curriculum policy-making and development is an important component of the IBE's Curriculum Development strategy. Training tools help strengthen local capacities for the management of curriculum design, development and implementation processes.
Training Tools for Curriculum Development: A Resource Pack
This tool has been designed to enhance individual and collective capacity of education specialists for decision-making, management, and operational functions and roles related to curriculum policy design, development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and research.
The Resource Pack has been conceived to be used flexibly in a wide range of contexts. It addresses the products and processes identified as common to most – if not all – curriculum development situations.
Manual for integrating HIV & AIDS education in school curricula
This tool has been developed for improving teaching and learning on HIV & AIDS in official basic education curricula. It includes a set of modules, assembled in a manual, for assessing the context in which HIV & AIDS education occurs, and provides information and recommendations for addressing the implications of the integration of comprehensive and multidimensional HIV & AIDS education into official curricula.
By elaborating this tool the IBE intends to support the development and adaptation of quality teaching and learning materials for HIV & AIDS education, as well as teacher training.
