Studies in comparative education
Supporting educational decision-making with research and information is neither simple nor straightforward. Researchers and administrators have sometimes found themselves in opposition and even in open conflict, while educational information, however plentiful, has not always provided the right information to the right people. In a number of developing countries, both educational research institutions and educational libraries are fragile, while the information technology revolution has now transformed the roles of the different partners.
How can information centres serve the educational community and how can researchers provide policy-makers with 'usable' products? In the context of democratic systems becoming more widespread with a broader political base, this book examines the services and procedures required to carry out the fundamental changes called for by education systems confronting the future.
