The IBE is supporting curriculum development processes in the following countries:

 

Angola: Integrating cross-cutting issues in the curriculum (2009-2011)

The IBE, in the context of the UNESCO CapEFA Programme has collaborated with the Ministry of Education of Angola in the development of national guidelines. In 2010, through two workshops, more than 40 curriculum specialists and teacher trainers were trained on integrating cross-cutting issues in the curricula of schools and teacher training institutions. 

Iraq: Developing the new curricula (2010-2013)

With the technical assistance of the IBE, this projects intends to support the capacity development of Iraqi specialists in order to align quality curricula with quality teacher training, classroom practices and assessment. For 2011, the main goal of the planned activities is to finalize the Curriculum Framework.

Kosovo: Reviewing the new Curriculum Framework (2010)

The new Curriculum Framework is expected to provide support and guidance for the successful implementation of the new education and curriculum vision through aligned syllabuses, classroom practices and assessment strategies, as well as through combining top-down and button-up approaches. A public discussion with education stakeholders, beneficiaries and the broader public took place during April-May 2010. The MEST Technical Team is finalizing the Curriculum Framework based on the results of this public consultation. The IBE and UNICEF Kosovo have been providing technical assistance to the team.
