Buenos Aires, Argentina - 20-22 April 2006 This regional seminar is the start-up activity of the Community of Practice in the southern cone of Latin America. It is jointly organized by the School of Education of the University of San Andres and the International Bureau of Education (IBE/UNESCO). The seminar’s goal is to share visions, proposals, experiences and practices on the current state of the Basic Education in the region. An additional goal is to define an agenda of curriculum issues and concerns to be fostered through the coordination of Silvina Gvirtz, Dean of the School of Education. The seminar will be an occasion to further discuss policy options on curriculum development and improve Basic Education in Latin America within the Education for All (EFA)goals. The curricular experiences of 6 countries (Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay) will be discussed.
