Supporting the process of curricular reform in Guatemala

Guatemala City, Guatemala- 5 to 9 March 2007 In coordination with UNESCO Office in Guatemala, IBE has collaborated since 2005 with the Ministry of Education of Guatemala on supporting the process of curricular reform. Two workshops were held on:

• Revision of the new curriculum for grades 7 to 9 (Basic Cycle of Secondary Education) with curriculum specialists from the different disciplines and areas of knowledge
• Training of teachers who are part of a pilot experience of applying the Pedagogy of Integration (competency-based approach) in a sample of primary schools.
