Promoting the quality of education in a school district of Campana, Argentina

In July 2000, the Department of Culture and Education of the Province of Buenos Aires, the Campana City Council, the firm SIDERCA and the International Bureau of Education signed an agreement to co-operate in promoting the quality of education in a school district in the city of Campana.

The objectives of the agreement are to raise the quality of learning for pupils of the Campana district by (a) improving the length of attendance; and (b) promoting democratic co-existence.

This is to be achieved through a co-operative network to raise the professional level of school management and teaching teams, particularly by concentrating on the areas of curriculum development, teaching contents and methodology. The proposed activities feature the use of new technologies, the granting of free time for staff to participated in the project and recognition of their participation in the training activities.
