 |
This project was created in response to the request of 9 African countries, looking to benefit from the International Bureau of Education’s support. The objective of the “Curriculum and Poverty Alleviation Project” is to promote capacity and transform official curriculum to better reach the objectives set by Education For All (EFA) and poverty alleviation programmes. The nine participating countries are: Angola , Burkina Faso , Burundi , Congo-Brazzaville , Mali , Mauritius , Mozambique , Niger and Rwanda.
The project is funded by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science, the Swiss government (DDC and OFES), by Sweden, the UNESCO programme of capacity building for Education For All and internal IBE funds.
The IBE is exploring the possibility of developping a similar project on “Curricular innovations, quality education for all and poverty alleviation” in English speaking Sub-Saharan Africa: Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania and Uganda. The fundraising for the exploratory phase of this project is currently on going. |
